Fastforward to maybe 4:00 for when I start using the consistant sensitivty and dpi values 3/2000 and 30/200 for comparison. The only reason where lowering your dpi would benifit you is if the mouse is unstable at the higher DPI setting. The stupid argument of "400 dpi is better on a 4000 dpi mouse" is basically the same as "playing with 30 FPS on a 144hz monitor is better"

Also when I said "direct input" - some games don't accept direct mouse input. The very first original Quake 1 in particular was defaulted to using system sensitivity for example. Back then though most people still played with arrow keys to move or aim, and it wasn't until quake 3 and half life where people started actually using WASD+mouse controls.
