The changes were made not only because consumers have been begging for them but for the fact that it was the only way to get people to buy.

Now that the changes are taking effect and dealerships are experimenting with different ways to satisfy the new demands, it is expected that these ways are here to stay.

Having bought and negotiated multiple vehicles this past year, and receiving nationwide feedback regarding how we’re conducting business now, I’ve got some thoughts I want to share and caution you if I may with a couple pros and cons as well:

Pro: see the vehicle from anywhere at any time
Con: you still don’t have an accurate sense for the size, color, dimensions. It’s the same as a YouTube video

Test Drive at Home / Alone
Pro: no pressure
Con: limited/forgetting questions & longer than normal wait times for follow up test drives

Work out the deal online.
Pro: no need for back and forth
Con: consider deep discounts gone

Complete purchase online
Pro: not having to go in and wait around, be pressured in person
Con: much longer wait, approval, processing and turnaround time
