I was ready to adore Wolfenstein Youngblood. The recent Wolfenstein releases saw developer Machine Games somehow managed to turn BJ Blazkowicz into one of gaming's most fully-realised characters; the idea of jumping forward in time to see BJ's daughters now having to take up the fight that he seemingly couldn't win was conceptually fascinating.

Thanks to several baffling design choices directly affecting both gameplay and narrative, the potential of Youngblood's co-op action is catapulted into a big bin. Easily the most disappointed I've been in a game in years.
