This is the first video of my Expert Game of the Year Series! What Board Game Deserves to Win Kennerspiel des Jahres? Is it The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine?

I cover all three expert/connoisseur games of the year in this 3-part series, this video diving deep into The Crew just in time for the announcement on July 20!

In The Crew, players work together to tackle unique challenges in this cooperative, trick-taking game. The logbook has 50 missions to challenge even the best-oiled gaming group, so proceed with caution. During a mission, players should make use of their one-time communications token, that is, if players’ communication hasn’t been blocked by the mission rules for that game. Each game is a nail biter, and you’ll want to keep playing mission after mission because games are brief and easily replayable if lost.
