Those of you who are especially close to me will know that I'm a big, die-hard fan of Wicked. I just love the musical! I went and saw it for the first time last year, in the spring, and I was far from disappointed.

I've been wanting to do vocal covers of the songs for some time. So I'm glad that I finally had the opportunity to do it. :D

I'm thinking I'll do more of these.... (No, that doesn't mean I'm giving up on Handplates. It's still going!) I just want to broaden my horizon a bit. That's all.

Original song belongs to Stephen Schwartz
Original song sung by Idina Menzel

Lyrics!
Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's win some, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl
