Plants: The Exhibit at Centennial Library!
Visitors will be entertained and alarmed as they travel from room to room inside a ramshackle
Victorian-era house, learning about some the world’s most dangerous plants that may be found in their backyards. This fun, educational exhibit features two- and three-dimensional interactives in each room, from sniffing stations in the bathroom to a crime scene investigation in the potions laboratory. Guests will learn about the deadly nightshade family, how some poisonous plants could make the next meal their last, and how painful plants have inspired human weapons and inventions.
Inspired by author Amy Stewart’s best-selling book, “Wicked Plants” the exhibit features more than 100 plants and highlights their potential negative health effects such as allergies, pain, poisoning, addiction, cognitive impairment, and even death. Wicked Plants combines botany, medicine, history, and storytelling in an engaging and wickedly creepy hands-on environment.
