This is another video in our series of looks at scam electronics, but it's more widespread. Fake SD cards have found their way to legitimate retailers by being well-disguised.

Scam SD cards are common. These fake capacities with firmware, explained in this video, and will appear as "32GB" (or even up to "1TB"), but might only support 4GB in reality. It's often obvious that it's a scam, like with mismatched prices or untrusted sellers, but these fake SD cards have begun infiltrating the likes of large online etailers and physical retailers.

Thanks to our viewer who sent these in! If you have other interesting electronics, old parts, or products that are unique, you can send them in to the PO Box below. Please note that there is no guarantee we will use it, but we will minimally try to open them on stream.

Links to Amazon and Newegg are typically monetized on our channel (affiliate links) and may return a commission of sales to us from the retailer. This is unrelated to the product manufacturer. Any advertisements or sponsorships are disclosed within the video ("this video is brought to you by") and above the fold in the description. We do not ever produce paid content or "sponsored content" (meaning that the content is our idea and is not funded externally aside from whatever ad placement is in the beginning) and we do not ever charge manufacturers for coverage.
