Wii Fit Body Check Channel (with English subtitles) (Read description)
198The Wii Fit Body Check Channel is a very obscure Japanese-exclusive channel. This is completely separate to the regular Wii Fit / Wii Fit Plus Channels.
Although we are, as of writing, not too sure about what this channel is, how it worked, and how it would be used, what we do know is that it would act as a bridge between the player/user and real-life health instructors.
It seems like it would use your Wii Fit (Plus) data, weight and stats, along with a Nintendo DS walking game called Lifestyle Rhythm, and send it all to doctors and experts. You would be offered health and fitness advice, as well as answers to questions, while also providing medical professionals with useful research data.
Each company would use this data in several different ways. According to an article from Eurogamer, NEC planned to use the Wii Fit Body Check Channel to get employees and their families fit and healthy, and Panasonic would cater to insurance companies and health organisations.
However, this is as much as we know. Although I and the WiiLink24 team plan to try to get something from it, perhaps even bring it back to life, there is very little information about this channel, making it possibly the most obscure Japanese-exclusive WiiConnect24 channel so far, and this is as far as we've managed to get in the channel.
