Wii HDMI Solution Comparison - RT5X Pro/Mayflash/Generic/Electron Warp/NEWCARE Component to HDMI
This is an updated video to my old HDMI Comparison video. Now included is the Retrotink 5x Pro, and a generic Component to HDMI converter.
For the RT5X Pro specifically, I have color corrected it within the software. By default, it has an extremely green tint, so I adjusted it using the Video ADC2 Settings.

Some important things to note:
The Retrotink 5x Pro should NOT be purchased just to have an HDMI solution to your Wii. This is an upscaler meant for hardocre retro game enthusiasts, as it's versatile for all sorts of game consoles. I'm simply adding it here because it's the best solution for a non-modded Wii.
To get the capture to look correct on OBS, you may have to tinker with the Color range and Color space settings. For every single one (except for the NEWCARE), I have the Color Range set to Expanded. For the NEWCARE, RT5x Pro, and the Electron Warp, The color space is set to 709. For the Mayflash and Generic adapters, the color space was set to 601. For the NEWCARE, the Color Range was set to Shrink.
I'm capturing this using an Elgato HD60S, so there is a very small green tint due to this capture card.
The Wii has a natural green tint. Some adapters are accurate with this, while others will either make it appear more red, or more green than normal.
For the Retrotink 5x Pro, I'm using HD Retrovision Component Cables. For the Generic converter, I'm using OEM. The difference is pretty negligible, however, the HD Retrovision Component cables have a bit less noise, but the OEM ones are still very good.
My Electron Warp has some issues with the colors occasionally going from a prominent green tint to a subtle one.
The Generic HDMI adapter and the NEWCARE Component to HDMI converter have diagonal line interference. I don't know how well it will show in the video, but trust me, it is there.
The Generic HDMI adapter has an extremely prominent red tint.
The Generic adapter has much louder audio for some reason.

Mayflash Wii2HDMI: $20.00
Electron Warp Wii2HDMI: $35.00
Retrotink 5x Pro: $335.00

Prices for Component Cables:

My opinions:
Best bang for buck, I'd go for either the Mayflash Wii2HDMI or the NEWCARE Component to HDMI converter. I would never recommend the Generic adapter to anybody.
The Electron Warp is great and is very color accurate to component. It's a bit more expensive than the Mayflash, but it's good.
The Retrotink5x Pro is a very expensive device, and I can only recommend it to hardcore enthusiasts of retro game upscaling. If you're just looking to hook up your Wii through HDMI, just see the recommendations above.
