Just a little experiment to show why Nintendo most probably decided against using the gamepad microphone for in-game chat. You can try this one at home, kids!
The audio for the whole video is taken from the headset mic taped to the controller. There is no fiddling of levels, what you hear is exactly what you would get from the gamepad. And you thought people opening chips during a film was annoying?!
