A classic rail shooter where players took on the role of a bounty hunter manning the gunner of a biplane in the sky. Players faced off against fighter jets and attack choppers, with each stage featuring a separate wanted fugitive that players must take out in order to complete the stage.

The biplane had 3 primary weapons, a gunner, target-locking homing missiles, and rockets.

The concept behind Jaleco's Wild Pilot was an innovative feat for its time, and boasted graphics that were similar to other classic arcade titles like Sega's Afterburner.
