Will The Next Final Fantasy Game Be Bad On Purpose? If FF17 has to use turn-based combat, would Square Enix deliberately make it bad, wasting millions of dollars, just to prove a point? I don't think they would, but the fact people are asking that question at all shows how little faith and brand trust there is in the FF series name.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sparked debate about modern Final Fantasy. An FRPG take on the JRPG genre. From my first playthrough and reactions to this turn-based combat dark fantasy. A video game by Sandfall, a French company with exceptional talent, made up of developers who left Ubisoft. It feels like the Final Fantasy game I always wanted. Incredible writing, music and direction. Featuring a great cast of characters, with fine voice acting from Maxence Cazorla (Esquie), Charlie Cox (Gustave), Kirsty Rider (Lune), Jennifer English (Maelle), Shala Nyx (Sciel), Ben Starr (Verso) and Andy Serkis (Renoir). Featuring an awesome system of Parry & Dodge timing, and QTE. Drawing influence from unexpected places, like Legend of Dragoon, Dark Souls and Chrono Trigger.
