Last week, Disney released an ambitious slate of films that will take up their release dates through the year 2020. And with those announcements came word that Star Wars Episode 9 will be headed back to its summer roots with a release date set for Memorial Day weekend on May 27th, 2019. With their spin-offs also continuing in a Young Han Solo movie coming in 2018, and more on the way, the question becomes what happens after Episode 9 in regards to the Saga Films?
When the marketing campaign started for James mangold’s Logan, black and white images were released by the director and star Hugh Jackman, leaving many fans wondering if the movie was actually going to be in black and white. That didn’t turn out to be the case, but now Mangold has revealed on Twitter that fans will be able to see a black and white version of Logan on a special theatrical release on Tuesday, May 16th.
It’s Monday which means it’s time for the weekend box office report. Taking in an estimated $19.3 million, Fate of the Furious took the No 1 spot at the box office for the third straight weekend, with a domestic total now at $192.7 million and crossing 1 billion dollars worldwide.
Pantelion's How to be a Latin Lover took the No 2 spot with an estimated $12 million, while out of nowhere, Great India Films' sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion took the No 3 spot with $10.1 million playing in only 425 theaters, three times as much as the opening for the 2015 original. Finishing in the No 4 spot was STX's The Circle, delivering $9.3 million from 3,163 theaters. And in the No 5 spot was The Boss Baby, which dropped 29% in its fifth weekend delivering an estimated $9.05 million as its domestic cume is now just under $150 million.

Two new TV spots for Wonder Woman were released over the weekend reminding fans that the movie is now only one month away from its debut. The long-awaited standalone film for Diana Prince features Gal Gadot as the Goddess, Warrior and Legend, with one spot featuring a small glimpse of the main villain in the movie, Ares – the God of War.
Deadline is reporting that a remake for Stephen King’s classic Firestarter is on the way with Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman directing and producing alongside Blumhouse’s Jason Blum. In Firestarter, a young girl develops pyrokinetic abilities and is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon.
Doing what he does best, Dwayne the Rock Johnson took to Instagram this weekend to share plot details on his latest film Rampage. Based on the arcade game of the same name, the movie will tell the story of monsters destroying cities with a cast that includes The Rock, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
