Ever since it was announced that J.J. Abrams would be the man in charge of two of the biggest sci-fi franchises of all time, Hollywood has been throwing in their two cents on if they think he's the right man to helm the next Star Wars film. One group who has been very vocal in their praise for Abrams has been his current Star Trek cast. Zachary Quinto praised the decision, but hoped he would return for a third Star Trek film, while Simon Pegg said it was a great thing he's doing both films and thinks he should do more films with "Star" in the title. Current Enterprise Captain also was happy to see Abrams get the gig and called him a sci-fi genius. But what does original Kirk William Shatner think of Abrams new position? We recently sat down with Mr. Shatner to talk about his new movie Escape From Planet Earth and couldn't resist asking him just that. Check out what he said. Nice to see Shatner give Abrams the seal of approval. Maybe since Abrams didn't cast him in the new Star Trek movies, he can find a role for him in Episode VII?
