Win10 QL | Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard (2022) Fan Sequel to "Inherit the Earth"
9For those out of the loop ... lets start with : if you ever wanted to put a face to a thing ... then "Inherit the Earth" from 1994 and its 2000s popularity made the Yifi nation ... yeah , welcome to a game that created the "Furry fandom"
So what was "Inherit the Earth" ... it was pushed out by the The Dreamers Guild a dev know for Edgy adventure games ... CULT adventure games that all now love ... from "Dinotopia" we covered to "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" (when they co developed aka help to finish with Cyberdreams) ... not to mention porting The Legend of Kyrandia to Mac and helping it become more cult ...
The problem was they did no PR ... only gave copies to reviewers , thinking they would do the leg work ... yeah ... and "Inherit the Earth" for them was a commercial BOMB SHELL flop ... that two years later ended them (even "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" was for them a FLOP, ouch)...
so what happened ... well Germany happened more like the "Bestseller Games" magazine that PR the shit out of it selling 300K copies (more then them) in 1996 ... making this IP and its sudden popularity become viral ... creating a movement ... and so , in 2002 the former Dreamers Guild co-founder Joe Pearce ( that started his own company Wyrmkeep Entertainment in 2000) acquired the IP... and self-published Inherit the Earth on his website and the sequel as a Comic Book on his site that you can still read https://inherittheearth.net/comic.shtml?0001A

So... the original devs wanted to finance a sequel (since the original was a planned trilogy , that the script later on became that comic) by Kickstarted ... like 3 times from 2013 to 2015 , but well ... like before a good PR you need to be a game dev of today ... since no awareness of a product a flop it makes ... you have to hype it out ...

Its 6h ... has many solutions , some are script driven ... and two endings ... or more if you count the deaths you can have ... Highly recommended game from my side , it fells like those proper 90s adventure games we lost ... in the Dei woke slop , that has true passion in it ...
