After the success of my Windows XP Original Soundtrack concept video, I have decided to create this too.

In 2006, Microsoft collaborated with Sumthing Else Music Works again to produce a soundtrack consisting of music from pre-Windows XP versions of Windows (3.0 MME to 2000), just a few months before Vista was released. This time, it comes on three discs: the first has the original Windows 3.0 MME midis, second has the NT 4.0/98/2000 RMIs and hidden 98 SE MIDIs, and the third has startups and other music included in parts of 95.

Disc 1:
1. Passport Designs - Almonds (0:00)
2. Passport Designs - Brandenburg Concerto No.6 1st movement (1:56)
3. George Stone (Passport Designs) - Trip Through the Grand Canyon (2:47)
4. Passport Designs - Lite 'N Dreamy (4:48)
5. Passport Designs - Metal Mosh (7:04)
6. Passport Designs - Passport Please (9:08)
7. Passport Designs - The Four Seasons (11:20)
8. Passport Designs - Someone's Band (12:38)
9. Passport Designs - King George's Stomp (14:35)

Disc 2:
1. uncredited - Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 (16:23)
2. uncredited - Beethoven's 5th Symphony (22:30)
3. uncredited - Beethoven's Fur Elise (28:50)
4. uncredited - Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy (31:25)
5. uncredited - Debussy's Claire de Lune (33:13)
6. uncredited - In the Hall of the Mountain King (37:05)
7. uncredited - Mozart's Symphony No. 40 (39:50)
8. uncredited - Blues (40:58)
9. uncredited - Funkin' Groovin' (43:14)
10. uncredited - Jazz (44:49)
11. uncredited - Americana (47:19)
12. uncredited - MWV Blues (48:42)
13. uncredited - New Grass (50:33)
14. uncredited - Party Time (51:42)

Disc 3:
1. Brian Eno - The Microsoft Sound (53:03)
2. Brian Orr - Clouds (53:09)
3. Matt Ridgeway - 3D Pinball: Space Cadet (56:03)
4. Stan LePard - Hover! Castle (1:04:51)
5. Stan LePard - Hover! City (1:07:01)
6. Stan LePard - Hover! Sewer (1:09:03)
7. Matthew A. Felton - Windows NT 4.0 Logon Sound (1:10:50)
8. Matthew A. Felton - Windows NT 4.0 Logoff Sound (1:11:00)
7. Ken Kato - The Microsoft Sound 98 (1:11:10)
8. Stan LePard - Windows 98 Logoff Sound (1:11:18)
9. Steven Ray Allen - Windows 2000 Logon Sound (1:11:25)
10. Steven Ray Allen - Windows 2000 Logoff Sound (1:11:31)

- Flourish, Onestop and Town were introduced in Windows Me, but omitted due to already being on Windows XP Original Soundtrack, which would've been released in 2004. (I have saw video game soundtracks omitting tracks previously released on CD too)
- While the Windows XP welcome music was made in 1996 for Internet Explorer 3 Starter Kit, it too is omitted due to already being on Windows XP Original Soundtrack.
- The Windows 3.0 MME and 3.1 startups and shutdowns are omitted due to them being closer to sound effects than full fledged jingles.
- Beta startups and shutdowns are omitted, as beta music/sounds are rarely included on soundtracks.
- I would have included the Windows 98 welcome music, Windows Movie Maker 1.0 and Media Player 7/8 tour music, but I don't have them in high enough quality. The startups and shutdowns are the only exceptions to that rule. If I ever obtain these in HQ, I may remake this video.
