We get a unique chance to take a look at some prototype designs from Windows Phone 8.1 OEMs at Microsofts Keynote during Computex 2014. The three devices shown were made as examples what future Windows Phones could look like. There's everything from a super low end 4-inch device, to a huge 6.45 inch screen monster and a super-rugged 5-incher.
The three devices shown are made by three different OEM manufacturers.
First there's the BYD model, that obviously looks like a souped up Nokia X incl. the characteristic single back button beneath it's 4 inch screen and a rather low res camera on the back but with chrome accents and Windows Phone.
Second we got our hands on a device called Quanta Aegis B61 that is a very rugged 5 inch smartphone with a very thick casing, that should withstand lots of abuse. Sadly the battery on that one was dead by the time the keynote was over.
Last there's the Wistron Tiger, a 6,45 inch 1080p device based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with on screen buttons that can be hidden by hitting a special button on the soft-button bar. This device has actually been tested on Android too and sports a pretty slim aluminum body with a quite good looking design.
Ever wonder what could be coming up in Windows Phone devices? Here you go :)
