Wing Arms | Sega Saturn Playthrough | Real hardware
I’m not a fan of plane games but this….. is no exception. It’s playable enough and works solidly with decent controls but there are many instances where I got stuck because I wasn’t sure what to do. The dog fight levels are a bit of a pain tyring to look for the last enemies to kil. Then the level in the canyon is a pain because you get lost in a maze inside the canyon and could be following the enemy plane for ages hoping to get lucky enough to see it. Then after the maze bit is a part where you have to kill a bit tower but it’s unclear how to defeat it and it can really nail you if you don’t take your time. So, you have to take a lot of time to kill it because you really don’t want to die as you would have to do the maze section again. There are limited lives so I didn’t do this on my first go as a lot of the levels are trial and error and even hope you get lucky when you have the tactics worked out. This is especially evident in the last level where you have to charge at boats and gun turrets that are equally firing back at you. You don’t even get to choose a difficulty level.
I don’t hate it but it could have been better if the level design wasn’t so awkward.
