3) I've been playing Over Flanders Fields since it was a fledgling mod for Combat Flight Simulator 3 in the 2000s. When it came out it was the go-to flight simulator for World War 1 simulator fans. Since those days, the game has come a long way with its immersive campaign generator, improved flight mechanics, and atmosphere. Although it may not run on a new game engine like Rise of Flight or have solid physics modeling, it has some of the most challenging flight AI, and it provides a single player experience like none other.

It's still a challenge in this sim to survive for 17 hours, the average of a WWI pilot, with minimal or no aids. I'm giving this a try to survive 17 hours on a "Dead is Dead" campaign. I use the TAC view only to find my spot in the formation and for minimal navigation assistance. I haven't learned to navigate visually, yet, so I use the map view when I get lost. Otherwise, I'll just be following the formation. Hopefully, I will survive 17 hours without dying.

In this mission, my flight takes to intercept inbound enemy aircraft. I'm flying an Albatross DIII (early) in Jasta 11. The mission date was March 13th, 1917 at 08:17. I managed to shoot down at least one Nieuport fighter, but the claim was rejected. I identified the aircraft as a Nieuport 17, but it easily could have been a Nieuport 23, since they look very similar.
