A bit more Wipeout Vs fun. I'd made a video of these two versions of Manor Top before, ages ago, but it wasn't a brilliant comparison as the two videos were in different aspect ratios and not very well matched up by myself. Also, I wasn't playing particularly brilliantly in either one, so I've wanted to go back and do a new version of them compared for awhile (I'm still not playing that fantastically in Pure, but I think I do a pretty respectable job on Wipeout 3 this time, a bit of a minor wall collision aside on the last lap).

I've also since then been reminded, from a comment that was left on another Wipeout 3 video I'd made, that the game actually supports widescreen. I'd completely forgotten about that. Pretty amazing for a game that old to support a feature like that.

Both games are being played on Venom, which at this point in the series still represented the game's 'normal' speed/difficulty class (with Vector being the 'Easy' difficulty). Vector was subsequently phased out in later iterations of the game and Venom then became the easy speed. Despite being on the same speed class, Venom on Pure feels far slower than on Wipeout 3. In fact Wipeout 3 has an amazing sense of speed for a game with a frame rate of 25 fps. I haven't unlocked any of the higher speed classes in Pure above Venom, so I'm not sure how they compare.
