Wise RESTRICTS Payment
Don't be fooled into thinking that PayPal, VISA, or MasterCard are the only ones who are policing what can or cannot be transacted. Wise may have also joined the dark side, a team of payment processors that are concerned about what you're buying and not giving proper consent on those awful things you bought.
This user has been using Wise since last year because the conversion rates are better compared to PayPal. Unfortunately, the account was restricted and will be closed at 18 October 2025, as there are "strict limits to what we can support as a regulated financial institution."
What was the thing that got Wise very unwise? Lewd drawings. Oh no. How dare they, right?
All these payment processors are seriously cracking down on adult content. The producers can't make money off of them, and the consumers can't pay for them. And yet, for some reason, this only happens to drawings of fictional characters. When you look at websites like OnlyFans and the kind of things that their payment processors tolerate-- OH GOD NO. And that was on January this year.
Honestly, what can we really do about it? While Bitcoin and crypto coins in general can be a viable alternative, it is still very volatile and risky, but it's the only one that doesn't have to comply to these dumb regulations. As more and more payment processors crack down on adult content, both the creators and the consumers should work on finding viable alternatives that do not have these strict regulations.
