Wish's Original Movie Scene: Finding Flazino, Extended Version (Read Description)
All right, we finally got a full version of the dungeon scene from Wish's Original Movie!
This takes place further into the movie, where Asha, Star and the Seven Teens sneak into the king's dungeon to rescue Asha's mother and grandfather. With the help of some mice (with a dash of a Cinderella reference), they go through the sewers to reach the cells. While there, they find several people that had gone missing in the past few days, a long with another friend of the teens named Flazino.
Flazino used to be Magnifico's apprentice until he decided he was no longer useful, so he broke his wish and threw him in the dungeon so he couldn't tell anyone the truth. On top of that, he's slowly losing his life now that his wish gone. (Wishes were originally connected to people's souls in this version. If the wish was destroyed, so was the wisher's spirit and soul)
They also find Dahlia (originally named Dijin ((?)) in this version) who's also been sent to the dungeon as punishment from the King. She was sent there because Magnifico stated that Dahlia was useless and a burden because she used a cane and was considered weak. So weak that she didn't deserved to get her wish granted, and sentenced her to wait on the prisoners. Heartbroken, Dahlia realizes Asha was right about the King and agrees to join Asha to stop him.
This part of the movie was changed because at this point, higher ups decided to make Queen Amaya a good person instead so she can "provide clues" on how to beat Magnifico. Leading to them making another song that while it sounded good, wasn't meant for the movie. The dungeon is still there, but they don't use it. π They also stated that adding Flazino was unnecessary because Asha already had 7 friends, and eight was too many. BUT SEVEN FRIENDS WAS FINE. PLUS A GOAT AND A STAR. OKAY THEN.
Once again, this was a huge backfire. The Seven Teens were actually not a bad idea! But they lacked the personality that was intended and didn't do much in the story until the final act. While here, Asha was going to meet each Teen one by one, and it would slowly reveal that they are indeed the seven dwarves. Plus, you can hear each dwarves personality shine through in just a few lines and were delivered much better. Also, Dahlia was the only one who didn't believe the king was evil until this point, to see divide between the people who love or hate Magnifico.
