I always wanted to make my own E3 comparison video, so here it is.
BUT first some important info for all you E3 maniacs before you watch the video!

First off - sorry for the poor quality of the CDPR demo footage but I couldn't find any decent good quality footage of this demo. To be honest, even on official Witcher youtube channel this particular E3 demo footage looks terrible. The youtube compression completely butchered the clearness and sharpness of that video.

My actual gameplay was captured and rendered in 4K resolution, but at 30 fps. I chose 30 because I wanted to capture that old 2014 demo feel. Demo at the time was running at 30 fps. Geralt's hair also move a bit different at 30 fps compared to how it moves at 60 fps. It's less "jumpy".

I would be ashamed to tell you how many hours (yes hours) I spent in Swamp and harpy encounters alone, trying to get the combat action 'right'. Meaning all the sword swing animations, dodges or camera angles were suppose to be as close to E3 demo as it possibly could. Same goes for general lighting / atmosphere feel. It took me many many re-recordings until I achieved the desired looks in Novigrad, Swamp, Harpy nest area, Werewolf fight, Downwarren and so on. It ain't perfect but I hope you do appreciate the effort.

Surprisingly the actual cutscenes took most of my time. Vanilla game has lots of different angles and lenghts of the same cutscenes from E3 demo. Most of the time they are longer. I made about 100 cuts in Sony Vegas from vanilla version to match the E3 demo version. By cuts I mean actually cutting and putting to getter frames from the captured footage. Quite literally going frame by frame so that the vanilla and E3 versions were running identical picture on both sides of the screen. I shit you not - on that alone I spend about good 6-8 hours total.

Last but not least: E3 -Size-THANKS to all the incredible modders who made this video possible. Your efforts over 8 years modding this game is incredible. We ACTUALLY almost have an E3 version of the game. Lighting, animations, retextures and remodels etc etc - its amazing what you have done with this game over the years. Seriously - you guys are wizards! I will try to list every mod used in the video and give credit to every single one of you who made them. Thank you!
