The heavy fighting of last week east of Torzhok has left the infantry of the 9th Army and the mobile units of the 4th Panzer Army so exhausted that this week, the Axis High Commaand isssued a "resting" order for the units that were engaged in combat last week. Will the Germans have the time needed to take by hunger the Soviet troops trapped in the Torzhok pocket by summer or will they be forced to launch more attacks before the spring thaw?
