🏢 Government Power | President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Workers' Party) said this Monday (August 18, 2025) that society will be under constant threat without regulation of large technology companies, known as big tech. In a statement to the press after a meeting with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa (National Democratic Action, center-right), the Workers' Party member declared that networks cannot be "lawless lands."
"Our societies will be under constant threat without regulation from big tech. This is the great contemporary challenge for all states. Digital networks cannot be lawless lands," he stated.
