WIZARDRY PROVING GROUNDS OF THE MAD LORD
The first role-playing game with a group control, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was directly inspired by series like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. This return from Digital Eclipse retains the appeal of the classic and features many improvements for modern role-players.
Unparalleled Dungeons
Create your own party of adventurers and enter the labyrinth at the command of the mad overlord Trebor in search of the amulet stolen by the evil sorcerer Werdna. Face groups of difficult enemies, avoid hidden traps, and make your way through the dungeon as you prepare for the final battle: the confrontation with Werdna himself.
Precision as a Flag
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was built directly from the original 1981 code. Although its appearance has been modernized, the original game code remains underneath. You can even see the original Apple II interface while you play.
A Challenge Without the Hassle
While the renowned enemy difficulty hasn't changed, quality-of-life improvements have been made across the board. The party management, navigation, spellcasting, and combat systems have all received significant upgrades.
The Rebirth of a Legend
If you're just discovering the legendary Wizardry franchise, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is the perfect starting point for new players. Meanwhile, series veterans will enjoy the new graphics and sound design, as well as the simplified interface.
