Wolf Kicking And Cow Licking! - Curious Expedition 2 Director Mode - 1890 - Expedition 3
Welcome to the Curious Expedition 2 Version 1.1, The New Director Update! Curious Expedition 2 is a sequel to the hugely popular Curious Expedition with updated graphics and animation, enhanced gameplay where every decision can make or break the party and a larger focus on resource management through each individual foray into the unknown.
In this episode we are about to embark on our last expedition of 1890 which means we have the hardest maps to contend with before having to take a modifier on so naturally we choose one of the hardest to go up against early on in hope it won't come up in the future, namely the Rainbow Orchid. That means we're up against a load of Rainbow Orchid guardians which are tough enough on a good day! Oh, and we get licked by a cow.
So join me as we take our first tentative steps in to the unknown in Curious Expedition 2!
- Curious Expedition 2 Gameplay Overview -
Curious Expedition 2 is a turn-based narrative roguelike that requires players to manage their resources and party members to keep insanity at bay and find glory.
A grand discovery has been made: mysterious islands have begun to appear and vanish from the oceans as if by magic. The great Explorer Clubs are funding expeditions to these strange islands to bring treasures back for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. Are you bold enough to join the adventure?
Version 1.1 - The New Director Update:
We just launched The New Director free DLC for Curious Expedition 2! It's a free update, so it will be available to you immediately if you already own the game or if you just bought it.
This update features a new game mode (Director Mode) and plenty of new content:
- New game mode: Director Mode
Starting in 1890 you take over as the Director of the Exposition as you explore islands containing greater dangers than you've ever faced before. For each year you complete, you have to add a new negative modifier to your trek. The end goal is to collect all the different Director Modifiers, and then complete one final year with them. It's not going to be easy! We also introduced a new Hall of Fame screen where you'll be able to keep track of all your runs in both game modes.
- New Biome: Corrupted Portal Worlds
This is a chaotic and unfriendly place, but one that offers new opportunities for those who know what they are looking for. It's a mysterious landscape heavily influenced by the purple fog, and dominated by features that aren't quite right. It definitely stands apart for most things that you've seen in Curious Expedition 2 so far. It's only accessible through portals that will appear throughout the game, so keep your eyes open for those.
- New Tribe: Pale Masks
The Pale Masks are creepy occupiers who are related to the fog, spending their lives travelling through the corrupted biome. They are itinerant until they decide to settle down on an island, displacing the islanders who lived there before. They wear masks with wide smiles at all times. Exposure to the fog has left them fog-infected, with purple veins sometimes visible under their skin. Who knows what they look like behind their masks?
