20Wolfenstein 3D needs no introduction. It didn't create the first-person shooter genre, but it defined what it is today. It is known as the "Grandfather of 3D Shooters".
Not only did it shape all FPS games to come, it also showed that shareware was a viable marketing option that served to springboard the company to greatness. They quickly sold over 250,000 copies and have since won numerous awards. Its mark on video game history is legendary.
The game was ported to PC-98, SNES, Jaguar, Mac, Acorn Archimedes, 3DO, Apple IIGS, Game Boy Advance, Xbox, Xbox 360, Linux, iOS, PlayStation 3 (PSN), and Android.
