This is the " I Am Death Incarnate !!" difficulty playthrough. Its much shorter to call It Ultra Hard Mode as it says in the description of the mode, in the game. This is the hardest mode combat difficulty wise. There is a harder setting, but its only harder because its one life perma death. I think its great that the option is there for those who would want to attempt it, but for me it feels like an artificial way to boost difficulty and not really my preference. The closest thing I did to something like that was Dead Space 2, Hardcore mode which only allowed a few saves. This is on another level though.

This playthrough will mostly focus on combat only. I will probably cut out more of the scavenging then what I left in this video. I try to leave some indication that its not just one 25 minute long combat scene, since the areas can look similiar. So I put some filler between combat scenes, but I can definately trim it down to make the video flow better.

This game has the ability to Save at any time. If used well this makes things much easier. You will see me pick off an enemy and then save sometimes, or several and then save.

Within about 3 hours I beat a good amount of levels, so its not too difficult. You die VERY fast though, but with careful play its alot easier than some hard modes that dont allow manual saving.

The thing you have to watch out for, is not to save over your previous saves all the time. Otherwise you may save in a fucked up area and have to revert back to an early save. I usually move my saves around so I dont go over the latest one. You can save and try things out and then revert back if it doesnt work, just dont save over your main save in an area. Even though you can save anywhere health and armor, ammo is limited, so you may have to play each part very well before you decide to save. You can inch your way through the checkpoints this way though.

The final combat sequence I will probably have to inch through like that and only save when I got alot of kills and took very little damage, so itll still be tough Im sure. Alot of it is positioning and trial and error too, as usual.
