Tia Cassett is senior director, product management for Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., where she manages a selection of the company’s mobile products to new categories of products. As head of the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ for embedded computing business, Tia oversees the product enablement and readiness required for success in embedded applications. To support the vast and fragmented ecosystem, she and her team launched the first commercial, publicly available Snapdragon-based development board, DragonBoard™, which has resulted in vibrant, growing community. She also launched the first availability of Snapdragon processors for embedded computing through distribution, making Snapdragon platforms more accessible than ever to broad vertical opportunities.

Tia has more than 26 years of experience in the wireless industry, 20 years of that at Qualcomm. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Tia spent her early career at LCC Incorporated, an RF engineering company which pioneered tools, services and training for global wireless network deployments. She continued her experience from LCC to Qualcomm starting the commercial tools business, which is still active today; and as the business, product lead for Snapdragon Sensor Core, a low power, always-on integrated subsystem, which continues to be a key differentiator of the mobile platform.

Tia currently holds 23 patents and has a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
