Getting the gold tiles isn't too bad, it is just getting a word containing 10 gold tiles is the tough part!
Perks I went for to help were:
Extra Tile Slot - more tiles to make a 10 tile word and more gold tiles out.
Hold Zone Active - keep common gold tiles there, that are easy to make words with.
Refresh into Gold - MUST HAVE and keep up the refreshes!
Random Upgrade if 8+ Tiles - Try to get gold tile upgrades as a perk. Also use the refreshes on the upgrade perks to get more gold tiles! Great synergy with the above perk.
+1 on Upgrade used - helped for synergy and scoring into endless mode.
