To trigger it you must pass through (both from the left and right-hand side) the flaming torch that is behind you, then the fur that is hanging on the far right of the stage without stepping on the sweet potatoes that are on the ground, then avoid the sweet potatoes again and cross through the stone axe on the wall, then cross through the sweet potatoes before winning the round. Not convoluted at all but this video shows it can be done consistently. It is 1000% easier to do with a character that has a double jump but it can be done by all characters, although some luck is often needed to avoid the sweet potatoes.
If you trigger 3 secret events in a playthrough you get to fight Son Gokuu. This is by far the hardest event to trigger and is really not worth the effort (the modern era, ice age, industrial age and megalithic era are all very easy, so just go for them) but I wanted to share this to show that the event does exist and the Japanese info that exists for it is basically correct, if not very well explained (and even worse when translated into English)
