World of Tanks with Gitbag episode 8: The Beast of the B1
The B1 Char-Bis was a French heavy tank designed in the years 1921-1934 to act as a breakthrough tank to support the French infantry in attacking enemy positions and trenches which is why it was designed like many early versions of the British tanks seen at the battle of the Somme in 1916.
Unfortunatley for the French, the B1 was designed with mechanical faults, a weak main gun, poor tactical mobility and deployed into units in the French army with poor leadership. As a result, the B1 saw its greatest successes in the German army as a reserve tank or training/weapons platform between 1940 and 1945.
In world of tanks, this beast is regarded highly at tier 4 on the French heavy tank line for its armour and high rate of fire but be warned, this thing is not known for it's damage output and penetration and certainly not for its fear factor!
