World of Warplanes - Development Director Interview
We caught up with Development Director Alexander Kasianenko during the Wargaming anniversary event in Minsk to discuss the game that is currently in open beta. He talked about how making their game accessibility and easy to understand for their large target audience was a great challenge.
"There is a big difference between tanks and warplanes. As you know tanks go on the [2D] plane, planes fly in three dimensions. Initially people mentally understand how to drive a car, the same happens when they try to control a tank in World of Tanks. For our tank players this process is pretty natural. In World of Warplanes there is another situation, because we have very fast gameplay and at the same time aircrafts fly in space, in three dimensions. And aircrafts cannot immediately stop in clouds and look around. Planes are like sharks, they always move."
