In 1987 Electronic Arts released Wasteland, creating a completely new background scenario for computer roleplaying games, which until then had used the classic medieval world as a background. This gloomy doomsday mood was continued with many more titles and is still very much alive today with titles like Fallout.

In this video i would like to show you some post-apocalyptic themed RPG from the DOS era. Most of them use the real world after a nuclear world-war scenario, but Dark Sun took the post-apocalyptic scenario in a fantasy world. Here the destruction came from the misuse of magic, which drained the lifeforce of the entire world and changed it into a wasteland.

I used the fallout soundtrack for all games in this video, because for me this is the best soundtrack for the apocalypse.
