36hese are two my early shots on Wreck-It-Ralph 2. During that time production was still pretty slow and I had a good amount of time to explore. In issuing with the directors Phil Johnston described Ralph as a giant baby and I tried to captured this with the way he agrees with Vanellope.
On this show I had a tone of running and walking shots. They are quite challenging because any change could mean a complete doover for footsteps. On WIR2 I really tried to be on top of my game and tried to animate as much as possible while maintaining quality. In the end I managed to animate 2:45min on this show.
Since I started at Disney I really embraced working with reference to explore many versions before jumping into the computer. Without it I often find myself dabbling around and not being entirely sure what to do. On top of that I try to customize most of my Maya workflow with hotkeys and scripts to eliminate unnecessary steps.
Coming to the US I realized how German I eally am because I love when things are efficient more than anything else .
