We're with a spooky flick to get us in the mood for October! Well, maybe not so much spooky as INSANELY UNNERVING. It's our reaction to Longlegs yall! This Nic Cage vehicle directed by Oz Perkins, the SON of Norman Bates himself, Anthony Perkins in a STRONG STYLISTIC and command of TONAL AUTHORITY here! It's slow burn, but got some jump scares, its sorta a cinematic mixtape but congeals all of the core genre influences so it feels really fresh! A truly camp, terrifying and quintessential Cage performance is delivered here as Longlegs, along with a very precise Maika Monroe and Alicia Witt who damn near steals the whole film from underneath everyone!
This one is a ball and since we avoided trailers, spoilers and reviews hits us like a bucket of cold water!
