Apple began the world wide developers conference today with a keynote highlighting features of their new OS to the new iPhone 3G S. Snow Leopard will ship this September for only $29, $49 for a family pack, beating Microsoft's Windows 7 to the market. Although Snow Leopard isn't an entirely new operating system, using technologies such as OpenCl and Grand Central, Snow Leopard will run faster and more efficiently than your current Leopard install. In fact, it takes 45% less time to install Snow Leopard and is 6GB less than Leopard.

iPhone and iPod touch OS 3.0 will ship June 17th: iPhone users can enjoy this upgrade for free while touch users need to pay a $9.95 upgrade fee. Finally, apple unveiled a new iPhone dubbed iPhone 3G S. New features including a 3MP camera with video recording, a "fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating" screen, faster speeds, and voice controls among several upgrades. For $199/$299 a new customer can purchase a 16GB or 32GB iPhone while current 3G owners will pay $200 more respectively. This has to be my biggest gripe with the 3G S. The current 8GB iPhone 3G will continue to be available for $99.
