So today we're highlighting "The Low Road" with a quick introduction that should alone be enough to convince you this game has some hootshpah.

This humorous take on the internal politics of 1970s intelligence agency puts a big emphasis on the more mundane means of data collection and usage of social engineering in the spy game. You'll follow wide--eyed rookie Noomi Kovacs from her first days on the job as--well--an assistant, as she tries to work her way up the ladder and try to find where that world of mischief and martinis comes into play.

While largely a dialog driven point and click, the game is uniquely fascinating when it comes to the open-ended conversations extending from the social engineering techniques used to collect vital information. The variety of intel at your disposal leaves the chances of successes a matter of your own competence in figuring out the best intro for getting the target's trust. You've got to be careful not to box yourself in with information you won't be ability to verify---or at least fake--and risk blowing the whole operation.

There's just something so uniquely satisfying to the player element in these decisions that elevates these tasks beyond the usual puzzle dimensions of P&C gaming. But there certainly are plenty of more traditional puzzle elements to be found as well, including the beloved rhyme task---which actually shows up early enough that you'll get a glimpse of it in this video even.
