I used two same level Field Armus to test this out, but as you can see the damage modifier from the 3rd autoattack will carry over to the art it's cancelled into.

AA1 = 686 Damage (I took the higher value in this clip)
AA2 = 1083 Damage
AA3 = 1682 Damage

AA1+2+3 = 3451 Damage
AA1x5 = 3430 Damage

AA3 is 2.45x the amount of AA1's damage, so you basically need 2.5 AA1s to match AA3's damage output. You can auto faster in this game by cancelling your movement, however even 5 AA1's won't match a regular combos worth of damage.

AA1 - Stratospheric Thunder = 5456 Damage
AA3 - Stratospheric Thunder = 8740 Damage

As each successive auto does more damage, and the bonus carries over while also granting more Special Art charge for cancelling from a third hit into an art, there is no reason to movement cancel your first autoattack unless you need to build a healer art to save your party. From what it seems it seems like each successive auto adds about 30% of AA1's initial art damage, so AA2 - Art would be 130%~, and AA3-Art would be 160%~

Likewise, AA1-Special fills about 30% of the Special Gauge, AA2-Special is about 50%, and AA3-Special is about 70%.

Successfully doing a Blade Cancel and swapping your Blade out will also keep this bonus as well, this is harder to record but I'll do it if people need the evidence.
