XBOX One X Internal vs External Hard Drive Game Loading Times
Another simple test using the following games, which do have long load times.
Assassins Creed Origins
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Grand Theft Auto V
The Witcher III
Each game was measured in seconds from pressing Launch on the dashboard to the game being playable.
The test measures and shows the results of both the Internal hard drives of the XBOX One X and a standard external USB 3.0 hard drive. A Seagate 8TB drive was used for the external tests.
Conclusion: A mixed bag. The Tomb Raider result threw me, so I repeated the tests to check for any errors and it was indeed slower on the internal drive, where GTA V excels on the internal drive, as does the Witcher III, with AC Origins being marginable
