Xbox's problems intensify: first it was falling sales, then price increases
Xbox's problems are intensifying ๐ฌ: first it was the drop in sales compared to PlayStation, then the unjustified price increases and now... the disappearance of the brand from its entire section in Costco USA and UK ๐. Many fans in the United States realized that searching for PlayStation or Nintendo on the wholesaler's website did return normal results, but typing "Xbox" returns a glorious zero, not a single product as if the console had never existed, the thing is that nobody knows why they disappeared. And although Microsoft was celebrating record revenue thanks to Game Pass ๐, the Series X and S plummeted 22% in hardware sales, with prices rising to $200 in just one year, generating fierce criticism, even from former Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra, who accused the company of using tariffs as an excuse to fatten profit margins๐ธ. As if that weren't enough, Square Enix and other publishers have stopped releasing physical games on the console because it's simply "not profitable" ๐, pushing Xbox increasingly towards a 100% digital and cloud-based future. With the Tokyo Game Show just around the corner and a mysterious announcement on the way ๐ฎ, the big question is whether fans will continue to be willing to pay exorbitant prices for fewer exclusives and disc-free titles... or if this is the beginning of a Game Over for Microsoft ๐ฅ
