Finishing this game on Classic Ironman for the first time is a great feeling after all the tense situations you've been through. :)

The last mission is on the easier side except for the last room where you can lose half the squad in a heartbeat if you're not cautious. This is because until the ending people usually face only one Ethereal at a time but here you have 3 to deal with which makes things a bit more complicated.

However what can make this an easy encounter is the fact that if you finish off the Ethereal leader quickly all the other aliens in the room will die with him. I did want that to happen because it's not really challenging so what I did to save my men from being mind controlled and turned against me was to equip them with some mind shields. It's also worth noting that the attacks of an Ethereal creature are not projectile based but psi based so if you quickly take out the Muton Elites guarding the leader you don't have to worry about taking cover anymore. This way all of my men lived to see the tragic but heroic finale of the game and I even managed to finish off the leader with a cool sniper shot from a flying position. :)
