After the war XCOM became not-so-secret anymore. Valerian, thanks to his recorded achievements on the battlefield, became a chick magnet. I should say he was really successful.
Marc is the only son of Valerian. While the relationship with Valerian and Belle Monique (Marc's mother) didn't last for long, Marc managed to get them later to be just friends again, instead of bitter on each other.
Having lots of sisters with Valerian's parentage, Marc felt himself confident in talking with women thanks to his experience with the siblings. But he wanted something more...
He wanted to achieve the same fame that his father earned during the First Alien War. He wanted to earn the right to be special, not just to be a son of one of the best XCOM operatives of the past.
His wishes were granted. 2040 marked the beginning of TFTD. It was inevitable (lol) that Marc, thanks to his connection to Valerian (and his overall training - he wasn't too horrible) joined the restored XCOM.
Will he become the second Valerian - only the TFTD LP will tell us. But what is known for sure - he will be the Malik Essam's (Ramesses III) best friend.
He loves earned honor. He hates cowardice.
