The final destination of the map was the dam. Bradford became concerned that he will have to part ways with his trusty team. After almost three weeks of their following of the map, he became friends with all of them.
He still was on his own, John didn't find Shen family yet after XCOM had fallen. And the prospect of being alone scared the former central officer. The only thing he was sure about - that the Elders want his head badly. And that he left them a rude message comparing them to dog crap and taunting their cliche personalities.
It will be sad indeed.
