Xenoblade Chronicles DE: Part 1: Prologue - Clash of the Titans
I have deliberately published this video on April 6th, 2022. That is the 10th Anniversary of this game's original Wii release in the US!
I will be uploading videos of this game alongside its sequel, Xenoblade Chronicles 2. There's a major reason why I'm doing this, but that was somewhat already spoiled by the announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
----------
So here's the story of this epic game:
There was once a world that only consisted of an endless sea, but from this sea, two massive titans where locked in a battle of godly proportions.
The white titan with the bright light blade is known as the Bionis. Meanwhile, the black titan with the dark metal blade is known as the Mechonis.
When it felt like their duel was endless, it was eventually finished on a draw, when the titans' blades struck against each other at the same time.
This had killed the titans, but from there, new life became possible on each of their bodies.
The organic body of the Bionis allowed biological life to be born from it, such as plants, animals, and even people. These human-like people would be known as the Homs.
The mechanical body of the Mechonis allowed all forms of machines to be built and generated from it. These would be known as the Mechon.
Both of these "offspring", much like the titans, themselves, were at war against each other. Eventually, this climaxed on the land formed from the Mechonis' sword, Sword Valley.
----------
The Homs' military force was the only force that was able to face off against the Mechon, however, the Mechon's own forces and numbers were getting too overwhelming for them to handle.
Hope all fell upon one man among them. A trained swordman named Dunban, who wielded the mystical sword of the Bionis: The Monado.
This Monado is the only weapon capable of cleanly slicing through Mechon metal. Its wielder could also utilize special Monado Arts to further improve itself for battle, such as increasing its power and range, and temporarily granting allies the ability to damage the Mechon with their regular weapons.
Aiding Dunban were to of his most trusty comrades and best friends: The dusty, literal sharpshooter Dickson, and tri-claw melee specialist Mumkhar. They were actually at the frontlines of the military all thanks to Dunban's use of the Monado.
While Dickson was willing to assist Dunban in the war, Mumkhar was more cowardly about it, as he didn't want to get killed by the Mechon. Regardless, the three proceed onwards to battle!
----------
All you have to do in this prologue fight is to destroy the Mechon that come your way. You can either use Monado Buster to do intense damage to them in front of you with one mighty strike, or use Monado Enchant so that Dickson and Mumkhar can actually damage the Mechon themselves.
Using Monado Arts requires filling up the Talent Gauge, which is done by allowing your character to Auto-Attack the opponent by engaging into battle and letting them get close to their target.
----------
Dunban was quick skilled with the Monado. Slicing through Mechon will relative ease.
But it came at a rather heavy cost. The more he used it, the more the Monado damaged his body. It was as if... the Monado was rejecting Dunban as its rightful wielder. Dickson had to break Dunban out of a jam, because the Monado had paralyzed him for a moment.
Mumkhar, seeing that the war was getting way too intense for him to handle, tried to make a quick getaway for his own life's sake. However, he tripped and then got hundreds of laser sights locked onto him. It would seem that his life was about to reach its very end...
Despite taking on heavy damage from using the Monado, Dunban refused to let that slow him down. In the name of the Homs, the people of the Bionis, he fought to his very last breath to defend his brethren from the terror that is the Mechonis' creations.
----------
Xenoblade Chronicles is the story of how everything and everyone's destinies are all traced back to the existence of the Monado, and how the sword's otherworldly abilities can allow its wielder to somehow shape and reshape reality, itself...
