Xenogears Bonus 1: Kernel Menu Glitch
2Today's episode is all about the Kernel Menu glitch, and how to go about maxing out on every in-game item possible. In fact, of the roughly 355 items in the game that you can pick up, only 78 of them cannot be found or purchased via the Kernel Menu glitch. I'll go over how to max out on these items in the next bonus episode.
You can only access the Kernel Menu glitch on original PSX hardware and discs, and can only perform the glitch on Disc 1. You need to get into a battle. Swap out Disc 1 for Disc 2, then, end the battle without going into the results screen. For most random battles, whether or not the glitch is successful is entirely RNG-based. But for scripted battles like at the start of the game, they're pretty much guaranteed.
