Recap: Citan rents a sand buggy and sets off with the plan of combing over the former battle sites of Aveh and Kislev armies over the desert to scavenge for the parts needed to fix Weltall. After he leaves, Fei hears a rumor of a group of pirates attacking people in the desert, and sets off in search of Citan, worried for his safety.

While searching, Fei sees several gears going past, and a large circular ship in the sky with some sort of force field around it. As the sun sets, he somehow ends up jacking a motorcycle from an Aveh soldier to be able to get around faster. He runs across some gears that take notice of him and move in aggressively, when Citan shows up in Weltall, having already gotten the parts he needed and repaired it. Fei jumps into the cockpit and fights off the gears.

After the battle, a mysterious masked man in black shows up in one of the gears that had attacked Lahan. He introduces himself as Grahf, the seeker of power. Grahf claims that he sent the gears into Lahan in order to awaken the power within Fei. Grahf claims Fei's destiny is to destroy god. He summons a large sand worm to fight Fei as a sort of trial, and flies off. Fei fights off the worm at the cost of breaking Weltall again, as Citan's repairs had only been temporary and not suited for such a battle. Additional Aveh military gears show up, and Fei and Citan are taken into custody in a large transport vehicle with Weltall on top.

Before reaching their destination, the transport is attacked by sand pirates who have their sights set on Weltall. Fei and Citan manage to escape the rapidly sinking vehicle, climbing into Weltall and making off with it. Just as they think they're safe, the pirate leader shows up in a gear of his own, mistakenly thinking Fei is an Aveh soldier and attacking him. In the heat of battle, the two accidentally get caught in quicksand and sink down into a giant cavern beneath the desert.

Exiting their gears, the pirate is able to see Fei is not who he expected, and warms up to him a bit. He introduces himself as Bart, and the two agree to a truce while they look for a way out of the cave. To their surprise, they find an old man living in a nook carved into the cavern wall, who welcomes them into his home and introduces himself as Balthazar. The old man collects many things from the cave including fossils, and shows them that human fossil records only go back about 10,000 years, hypothesizing that there were no humans on this planet before then.

Bringing things back to the present, Balthazar mentions a way out of the cave, and also helps them tune up their gears. While looking at Weltall, his demeanor suddenly changes, and he lets slip that he thinks the gear is "the host for the spirit of the slayer of god". He shoos Fei and Bart out of his home quickly and no longer wishes to speak with them.

On the way out of the cave, they encounter a large gear named Calamity. Fei has a brief moment of awakening with Weltall, and unleashes a strong attack that he doesn't know how he did afterward. Bart and Fei head to the rendezvous point with the Yggdrasil, Bart's sand cruiser, and meet up with Citan and everyone else onboard. Bart is dragged away, leaving Citan and Fei to find their cabin on their own in the gigantic ship.
