I know most of us Ridge Racer faithful are waiting for Bandai Namco to drop RR8 for the Switch, but while we wait for the official announcement, why don't we check out this new racing game for a bit, shall we? It's called Xenon Racer and it's coming, not only on the PC, but also on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It feels and behaves a bit like Ridge Racer, but instead of all the cars having engines, they're all electric. Instead of nitrous, these cars get extra power through F1-arcade style KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which replenishes via drifting through corners. Drift physics aren't as ideal as Ridge Racer's, however, once you get it, just like Ridge Racer, you won't want to stop. Moreover, as for soundtrack, all of this game's music comes straight from the Monstercat catalog. So, can this keep us busy til Ridge Racer 8 becomes official, or are we just biding time?
