The two remained silent as the doctor explained what happened, and even more still when he said he had to leave to debrief site-command. The two seemed afraid to even look at each other and instead stared at the ground like if they moved their gaze away for even a second they would die.
"Look," began Hamous trying to break the quiet. "I'm sorry for what I said and for punching you in the face."
"Accepted. I'm sorry for trying to strangle you."
For a few seconds the two were quiet again and then Uzey looked over at Hamous like he had just remembered something that had been bugging him for weeks.
"Hey," he started. "What kind of name is James for a girl anyways?"
Hamous made a weezing chuckle at Uzey who was now laughing to himself as the mess it made on her face.
"Maybe her dad wanted a boy?" was Hamous' answer. "I could really use some dutch courage. You?"
Uzey got up and stretched his back out until he got the desired pop of relief out of his spine. He wiped his face with his sleeve and whistled in surprise at the resulting stain of red it created. He pointed at it:
"You owe me. You're buying my drink."
"Fine, asshole. As long as you buy mine.
The two got up and continued to the cafeteria, getting odd looks from the doctors and staff who saw them walking by. Hamous continued with a slight limp and Uzey was pretty sure that one of his front teeth was alittle on the loose side.
"You know Cap, maybe you should change first. The bloody mess look isn't doesn't really suit you... Nah, just kidding, no one would recognize you without it."
